The School District of Bayfield Board of Education holds regular meetings on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. There are a few exceptions: the October meeting is held on the fourth Monday in conjunction with the meeting at which the Board sets the tax levy; the January meeting is moved to the fourth Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; and the April meeting is held on the fourth Monday to coincide with the seating of newly elected Board Members. Meetings are normally held in the school library and are also accessible via Zoom, except for the September and May meetings, which will be held on Madeline Island, and the November and March meetings, which will take place in Red Cliff. 

The Board has consolidated its committees and now operates as a Committee of the Whole. These meetings, usually held on the Monday prior to the regular board meeting, allow a majority of Board members to engage in detailed discussion, collaboration, and consensus-building on important district matters. While no binding decisions are made, the Committee may develop consensus positions or recommend actions, which must then be presented at a regular or special board meeting for official consideration and vote.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend all Board meetings.
